Who isn’t embarrassed? I am! Redknapp urges Spurs to play to make fans proud-biggame1688

biggame1688 Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp has slammed former club Tottenham’s 2-1 Carabao Cup third-round win over Coventry on Tuesday, saying the club were too poor to believe they were Spurs players. Head coach Ange Postecoglou is responsible for his careless line-up. biggame1688

The ‘Spurs’ are left with only left-back Destiny Udogie, midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur and striker Dominic Solanke in the starting line-up from the 0-1 loss to Arsenal.  ( biggame1688 )

And then the problem almost grew when they were down 0-1 after the game had passed an hour. Fortunately, two substitutes, Jed Spence and Brennan Johnson, scored a goal each in the last 5 minutes of injury time. They blew their whistles to avoid being pulled out by the team from the Championship.

Despite reaching the Carabao Cup fourth round, former captain Redknapp is left feeling disappointed by his teammates’ lack of attitude.

“They played like a slob, not close to the pace of the game until they had to wait for a goal,” Redknapp said.

“The way head coach Mark Robins scored the way he did against Manchester United (in the FA Cup last season), you have to do your homework to deal with it.”

“It was almost another embarrassing game for Ange Postecoglou – the result is a relief.”

“It’s time to go back into the dressing room and ask yourself: ‘How did we get away with this?’ Coventry played better, so it was a heart-stopping win.”

“It’s best to make sure that it’s a turning point that builds on momentum.”

“The lineup is another matter. I don’t like the first team they fielded.”

“Ange, look, let Joy go.”

“I think you should learn from Fulham last season, when they played a weak team and were eliminated (1-1 draw, 3-5 on penalties). Good thing they got away with it this time.”

Up next, Spurs will play two more home games in a row against Brentford (21 Sep ) and Qarabag (26 Sep ) in the Europa League, where they will be hoping to show some consistency and a clean sheet against them .
