vox888 Patrick Mahomes still has faith in Kansas City Chiefs wide receivers, refusing to urge Chiefs to make more trades
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes remains confident in the Chiefs’ wide receivers and has not lobbied general manager Brett Veach to make any further wide receiver trades, ESPN reports. vox888
The Buffalo Bills previously agreed to trade Amari Cooper from the Cleveland Browns, while the New York Jets traded Devontae Adams from the Las Vegas Raiders amid speculation the Chiefs will also add wide receivers after losing Rachie Rice and Marquise Brown to injuries.
“I have a lot of confidence in the guys that are on that football field,” Mahomes said. “They’ve won games, they’ve won Super Bowls, they’ve made big plays in big moments, and Brett Veach has done a great job of getting guys to step up when they’re called upon.”
‘Every time I step on the football field, I feel like we have the best ability to win, and I think that’s a credit to Brett Veach and Coach (Andy) Reid for getting players who are committed and dedicated to playing a great game every day.’
Mahomes currently has a group of wide receivers in rookie Xavier Worthy, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Justin Watson, Mecole Hardman and Skye More, as well as veteran wide receiver Travis Kelce. While adding wide receivers in principle makes sense for the Chiefs, there is likely no trade before the Nov. 5 deadline. ( vox888 )
