Cameron Hayward, 35, is set to wrap up his career as a Pittsburgh Steelers prospect after agreeing to a new three-year, $45 million deal with the Steelers, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports. vox888

Hayward has been with the Steelers since he entered the league as a first-round draft pick in the 2011 class. A six-time All-Pro, Hayward is entering the final year of his contract, which will see him make $16 million in base salary but no guaranteed money. His new deal will see him make $29 million guaranteed, nearly $15 million of which comes from his signing bonus.

The deal means Hayward will be with the Steelers for the rest of his career, as the 35-year-old defensive tackle has been a key player for Pittsburgh both on the field and in the locker room, averaging 80.5 sacks and 647 tackles throughout his career. The Steelers open the season against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.  ( vox888 )
