Monchi has parted ways with Sevilla after recently helping the club win the Europa League, with the 54-year-old managing director in charge of recruitment and player management for the Spanish club. ( superpg1688 ) 

However, Monchi decided to part ways with Sevilla last night. And shortly after, Aston Villa issued a statement appointing him to act in the club.

A position held by Monchi at Villa is the club’s president of football operations. which will take care of football at all levels of the team together with Unai Emery, the first team coach

However, Monchi stated that the reason for moving to Villa Park was because he was impressed with the plan in which he would take care of players and develop football for the club from under nine years old to the first team.

“I share this vision with you (Nassef) Savaris and you (Wes) Edens, and I’m still excited and can’t wait to work with Unai Emery again.”
