marinabays Xavier Jens, director of Netflix hits “Under Paris” and “Mayhem!” as well as the hit series “Gangs of London,” is set to begin shooting a new film in Thailand titled “ Lady Chang ,” starring Anais Parello (pictured above), who recently worked with him on “Under Paris.”
The film will be a psychological thriller, and will begin shooting in our country on May 12 and will be shot continuously for 9 weeks. It will be a film in English, French and Thai languages. Studio Canal will be responsible for distributing in France and international markets. Amazon Prime Video has the rights to show the film. marinabays
The film tells the story of Lena, a former French war photographer who is traumatized by the loss of her team on her latest mission and starts a new life in the Golden Triangle. She volunteers at an elephant sanctuary and meets Tangkwa, a Burmese girl who helps her overcome her trauma after a tragic event. But things go awry when the demons in Lena’s life resurface, leading her to get involved in various illegal businesses. Lena has no choice but to stand up for what she believes is right, and for the safety of herself and those around her.
Jens co-wrote the script with Parello, hoping for a film with the same DNA as the BAFTA-winning series “Gang of London,” with big action sequences and lavish cinematography set against exotic backdrops.
French actors Pascal Arbillot, Anne Marievin and Franck Dubosque will also star. ( marinabays )
