The Swedish goalkeeper has been linked with a move away this summer, with Marseille reportedly pushing hard for a move away from the club but struggling to negotiate.
Fabrizio Romano has now reported that Chelsea have made an official approach for the 22-year-old, having started discussions with the player’s agent, with the goalkeeper also keen on a move to Stamford Bridge.
Jorgensen is one of four options for the Blues’ new goalkeeper but talks have now begun, with the signals being positive.
The report goes on to say that Leicester City’s Mads Hermansen is another name that Chelsea are interested in, but the case of Georgi Mamardashvili has not been discussed as previously reported.
Jorgensen, who has come through the Yellow Submarine youth system, has been a regular in the last season, making 37 appearances in all competitions, and is now contracted to Villarreal until mid-2029. ( vox888 )
