Spain is facing its worst natural disaster in years after hours of heavy rain caused severe flooding in parts of the east and south of the country, particularly in the Valencia region and the city of Malaga. ( thaisiambet )

Strong torrents and mudslides swept away many vehicles on the roads, while infrastructure and homes were severely damaged, and other forms of transportation, including boats, trains and some airports, were suspended.

The government has mobilized more than 1,000 troops to help those affected in the Valencia region and declared three days of national mourning.

Most recently, Real Madrid, the famous club in the capital led by President Florentino Perez, confirmed that they have donated 1 million euros to help the victims of this disaster and wished them to overcome the crisis soon.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid’s match at Valencia this Saturday has been postponed, as has Villarreal’s match against Rayo Vallecano.
