The Miami Dolphins are set to release 30-year-old cornerback Shavian Howard at the start of the new league year on March 13, as well as releasing Emmanu. ‘Edge Rusher’ El Ogbah also turned 30 on Friday, according to a report from NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo. ( onelove168  )

Howard spent the last eight years of his career with the Dolphins, entering the league as a second-round draft pick in the 2016 class, emerging as one of the league’s top defenders. He was named Poe. A four-time All-Pro Bowl and one-time All-Pro, he signed a five-year, $50.691 million contract in 2022. 

Releasing Howard after June 1 would save the Dolphins as much as $18.5 million. Garafolo said the cornerback, who turns 31 in the month of June, would save the Dolphins $18.5 million. There will be a lot of attention this July when he hits the free agent market.  

Ogbah signed a four-year, $65 million deal in 2021 after two straight nine-sack seasons in Miami, making him one of the league’s most underrated elite players. 

However, over the past two seasons, Ogbah has had to deal with injuries. As a result, in 2022 he had just one sack in nine games and 5.5 sacks last season. 15 games, as there is no guaranteed money remaining in Chao’s deal and is worth up to $17.708 million. Therefore, such a salary is not appropriate for a 30-year-old player. 

Releasing Ogbah from the team would save the Dolphins $13.7 million along with just $4 million in dead money.
