The Cameroon international has been in fine form in the Premier League, with his pace and power, most recently scoring twice in a 4-2 home win over Brighton, taking his tally of goals in the Premier League to 18 this season.
In the past, he has been in the news for receiving attention from other Premier League clubs, especially the “Reds” who want him to strengthen their attacking game and have been continuously linked with bringing him in to replace Salah, who is still stuck on his contract extension.
The Sun recently reported that although Liverpool have reached an agreement to extend the Egyptian international’s contract, they have not yet dropped their plans to sign Mbeumo this summer.
Mbeumo is currently out of contract until the summer of 2026, leaving Brentford with the option to sell and receive a huge fee, believed to be in the region of £50m, if a new deal cannot be agreed.
