San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey, 28, returned to practice for the first time since Monday after missing the first eight games of the season, NFL Network reported. thaisiambet

McCaffrey has been sidelined since training camp with calf and Achilles injuries, and the 49ers placed the 28-year-old running back on injured reserve and will miss the first eight games of the 2024 season. 

The 49ers recently removed McCaffrey from the injured list and the 28-year-old running back began his first practice Monday, and the Reds now have 21 days to make the 53-man roster. 

McCaffrey’s absence allowed Jordan Mason to step in, and the 25-year-old running back impressed, rushing for 685 yards in eight games before suffering a shoulder injury in Week 8. Rookie running back Isaac Gerendo also performed well.  ( thaisiambet )
