Haaland picked up the injury in Manchester City’s 2-1 FA Cup quarter-final win at Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Sunday, with the Norwegian international scoring the equaliser before being substituted in the 61st minute.
A video clip has emerged showing Haaland, using crutches and wearing a boot to protect his left ankle, as he leaves the Vitality Stadium.
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has spoken about Haaland’s problems, saying: “I heard the doctors say he needs to be out for five to seven weeks. Hopefully he’ll be back before the end of the season and ready for the Club World Cup.”
“Sometimes this kind of thing happens in certain years and it happens throughout the season.”
If Haaland is forced to sit out five weeks, he will miss six games for Manchester City, including the FA Cup semi-final against Nottingham Forest at Wembley on April 26.
