Inter Milan and Italy defender Alessandro Bastoni admits the Nerazzurri are inferior to any of the teams that have reached the Champions League semi-finals but still believes they can topple Barcelona, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports on Saturday.
Inter Milan are chasing a treble of Serie A, Coppa Italia and Champions League glory, while Barcelona are also in contention for La Liga, Copa del Rey and Champions League glory. The Nerazzurri are due to visit Barcelona’s Olympic de Montjuic stadium for the first leg of their semi-final on Wednesday, April 30, before returning to the San Siro on Tuesday, May 6.
‘Individually, we are not as strong as the other three teams that reached the semi-finals, but as a team we can beat them,’ Bastoni said. ‘I don’t know (what we plan to do against Lamine Yamal). The last time I played against him at the Euros, we (Italy) didn’t do a good job against him.’
