“There’s one thing about being No. 1, and it’s a whole different feeling than being No. 2,” Kelsey said. “I want this game more than I want the game of my life. The guys in this locker room, the teammates, I have the same feeling.”
Super Bowl 57 was especially emotional for Kelsey and his family, including his mother Donna, as it featured a showdown between Travis and his older brother, veteran center Jason for the Philadelphia Eagles.
‘To see my whole family there was an honor, to have all those flowers, my mom being the center of attention in the pre-game glory on the biggest stage, to be around my brother all season and then to see him at the top of the mountain, it was the best feeling in the world.’
The Kelce brothers each walked into the Super Bowl with a ring, and Travis walked over to hug Kelce as confetti fell on the field as the Chiefs held up the Super Bowl 57 trophy.
“There’s nothing you can really say to someone you love in a situation like that,” Travis said. “You joke around all the time and say you want to beat your brother on the biggest stage, but it’s a weird feeling.”
‘There’s really nothing I can say to him other than I love him and he had a great year, a great season.’
Jason, for his part, said of his brother: ‘I’m just happy for him, congratulations. It’s hard to come here. I don’t let the emotions get to me. I’m sure we’ll have more emotional interactions. It’s still frustrating at the time.’
‘But really happy for Traf. Obviously we’d love to win, but definitely happy for Traf.’
