Cleveland Dot Com reported that Jerome’s frustration was caused by a total of 53 fouls between the two teams, which resulted in 70 free throws in the game.  ( superwin636 )

That 53 times is more than the NBA average of 40 times per game. 

“I thought the referees were very poor in the game, especially Natalie Saka, she was terrible,” Jerome said of female referees, leading to a small sexist comment. 

“When something like that happens, we lose control of the game. Our job is to just keep our heads down and play.” 

“I personally thought the first half was ridiculous, and the third quarter was even more of a mess, but we just accepted it and played.” 

Jerome had a career – high 25 points , 6 assists and 6 steals in the game, and had 1 technical foul for arguing with the referee.
