England winger forced off in Arsenal’s 4-0 win at Ipswich Town
Saka suffered a serious challenge on the back of his ankle by Leif Davis in the 32nd minute and the defender was sent off.
England international Saka was substituted early in the second half and was pictured wearing an ankle brace.
Arteta said the winger was “injured” but added the decision to take him off was purely a precaution. Arsenal face Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League semi-finals on April 29.
“He’s got a little injury but it’s nothing serious so it’s fine,” Arteta said.
“I haven’t seen the slow-motion footage, I’ve only seen the normal speed footage and yeah, Davis is on him from behind. “
I don’t think it was intentional but it’s dangerous because he can’t react because you can’t see him coming at you.”
Arsenal have been struggling for injuries this season, with Saka, Martin Ødegaard, Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus all ruled out for long periods of time.
The Spaniard admits that’s why he gets worried when he sees his players struggling during games.
