The FA said West Ham had been charged with crowd control misconduct.
In a statement, it said: “The club cannot guarantee that fans will not behave in a way that is inappropriate, abusive or insulting to their sexual orientation.”
Days after the game on Monday, February 3, West Ham issued a statement that “strongly condemns the homophobic and sexist chanting directed at opposition fans.”
It also added: “Such chanting is completely unacceptable and has no place in football or anywhere else” and is a criminal offence.
