“First of all, I’m very disappointed,” the 28-year-old quarterback said after not being selected as the starter. “I know I’m a starting quarterback in this league. I had no doubt about it, and it didn’t go my way. I know the type of player I am, the type of person I am. Like I said before, I’m ready to go if I have to. Like I said, I’m confident that I’m a starting quarterback in this league.”
Stidham, who entered the league as a fourth-round draft pick in the 2019 class, has started four times over the past two seasons. He also impressed Peyton by starting in place of Russell Wilson for the final two games of the 2023 season, completing 60.6 percent of his passes for 496 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.
“I think they know what I’m capable of,” Stidham said. “I think I showed that last year every time I got called in and played the last two games, throughout training camp, the offseason and all that. At the end of the day, I’m going to go out there and do what I do. I’m confident in what I can do and I’m going to do everything I can to help this team.”
