The NFL’s top players rallied on Twitter on Sunday, questioning the league’s safety measures and preparations for training camp in late July. This was accompanied by the hashtag ‘WeWantToPlay’ in response to the league sending a memo to the general managers and head coaches of the 32 franchises confirming the original schedule.

Troy Vincent, the NFL’s executive vice president of football operations, sent a memo to the general managers and head coaches of the 32 teams reaffirming the original rookie call schedule on July 21. The quarterback and injured players will report to duty on July 23, and all remaining players will report on July 28, but there has been no confirmation of safety and health measures for the players. Play and staff amidst the spread of the ‘COVID-19’ virus.

Chicago Bears outside linebacker Khalil Mack tweeted: ‘Please resolve health and safety concerns so we can play football this year.’

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson tweeted, ‘I’m concerned my wife is pregnant. Training camp is about to begin and there are no clear plans regarding player safety and family safety. we want to play football But we also want to protect the people we love.’

Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt tweeted, ‘Once again for everyone. (Players and fans) are the most informed. Here’s an update on what we as players know and don’t know as the first group scheduled to attend training camp tomorrow.’
