Son, 32, has scored 164 goals in 414 games for Spurs since joining from Leverkusen in 2015.
The South Korean international has become a firm favourite with fans in north London and was appointed club captain last season.
Son’s current deal is due to expire next summer, sparking fears about his future, although Ange Postecoglou’s side have the option to extend his deal by another year.
The Daily Mail understands that Spurs are relatively relaxed about Son’s contractual situation and are expected to trigger the option, which would keep him at the club until 2026.
But speaking ahead of Thursday’s Europa League clash with Qarabag, Son explained there had been no talks about extending his contract.
“We haven’t talked about anything yet. It’s very clear to me. I’m very focused on this season. At this age, every second is like a goal.”
“Especially this season, we are in a lot of competitions, I feel like I am more concerned about that.” ( wilson88 )
