Merino, who has just 12 months left on his contract, is set to leave Real Sociedad for a fee in the region of €25-30m amid links to Barcelona, ​​Arsenal and Atletico Madrid. 

Meanwhile, Real Sociedad plan to use the money to sign the 28-year-old midfielder’s agent, with Valencia’s 21-year-old target Guerra set to cost a similar fee.
