Smith said, “Time will tell. (Is it one important point?) What we do is drag it to win until the last match and make Everton only have to win. that’s what we do I have no regrets for the way we played today. I feel we need to be in the game.
“Newcastle was one of the top three teams all season. They crush the team here. We can’t let them treat us like that with the tall players and crosses from Kieran Trippier.
“It’s still difficult to defend. And we need another centre-back. You can’t open up space for them here. It’s a tough game to win. But you see the players fighting all the time.
“We had to chase the ball for a long time. But I think our discipline is very good, yes they had chances. but did so with many A team already in the league this season.”
The draw leaves Leicester with 31 points in 18th place in the table, with the last game coming back to play at home against West Ham on Sunday May 28.
