Defender Stefan Savic, 33, will continue his pre-season training with Atletico Madrid as the Montenegro international waits for an offer from a new club, Marca reported on Monday.

Savic is one of a number of defenders to leave the club this summer, along with Gabriel Paulista, Mario Hermoso and Caglar Soyuncu, after the Rojiblancos agreed to terminate the remaining year of his contract to allow the 33-year-old centre-back to leave on a free transfer.

Savic is reportedly set to remain part of Atletico Madrid’s pre-season training schedule from Friday, July 12, while the Montenegro international waits for the right offer to arrive.

Savic joined Atletico Madrid from Fiorentina in the summer of 2015 for a fee of just €10 million. During his nine seasons with the team, he played a total of 297 games and scored three goals, winning one La Liga title, one Europa League title and one UEFA Super Cup.  ( wilson88 )
