Sane has just finished his international career with Germany at Euro 2024 after being eliminated in the quarter-finals by Spain 1-2 in extra time. He has played in all five matches, starting the last two in the knockout rounds.
The 28-year-old winger underwent surgery on Monday morning local time for a groin injury and the operation went smoothly.
Sane is expected to be out for around three weeks before returning to training in late July, when the team prepares for the pre-season under new manager Vincent Kompany.
