The Star Tribune reports that Towns was involved in a car crash Thursday (local time) while traveling to the airport to join the team on a flight to New York City.  ( sand357 )

sand357 After examining his symptoms, it was found that the 23-year-old player was still dizzy and failed a concussion test, so the team dropped him from the game at Madison Square Garden to monitor his symptoms. However, for the next night’s match at the Milwaukee Bucks (February 23), it has not yet been decided whether he will be sent back or not. sand357

Head coach Saunders will wait and see if Towns is brought back or sent back.

“I spent time with him on Friday afternoon. He’s still got the spirit … but he’s not physically ready. We just hope to see ‘Cat’ back in the game again,” Saunders said. 

Friday’s miss was the first of Towns’ career and ended a streak of 303 games since he entered the league, the longest such streak since records began in the 1970-71 season.
