lisbon365 After facing off against dinosaurs, Sam Neill is set to face off against a much larger beast, the Kaiju, in Legendary ’s as-yet-untitled sequel “ Godzilla x Kong .”
Neal will join Dan Stevens, who returns as a Kaiju expert, along with newcomers to the series, Caitlin Dever and Alicia Debnam-Carey. lisbon365
The new film continues the Legendary universe of giant monsters, in which humans have to coexist with monsters like Godzilla, Kong and other titans, which opened with 2014’s “Godzilla,” followed by “Kong: Skull Island,” “Godzilla: King of the Monsters” and, most recently, “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire,” as well as the Apple TV+ series “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters,” which has already been completed and is set to premiere in 2026. The films have grossed a combined $2.5 billion worldwide.
The film is directed by Grant Puto, who directed the sci-fi hit “I Am Mother,” replacing Adam Wingard, who had directed two consecutive films. The script was penned by David Callaham of “Shang-Chi” and “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.”
Warner Bros. and Legendary Entertainment have set March 26, 2027 as the release date for the new installment.
