Rogers joined Villa from Middlesbrough earlier this year and has become a key player for Unai Emery as they push for Champions League glory this season. 

The 22-year-old has signed a five-and-a-half-year contract with Villa on a young wage bill but, having scored five goals and provided four assists in 28 appearances, the club are keen to improve his current deal, particularly on wages. 

The Athletic reports that Rogers and Villa are in talks over a new contract to keep him as a long-term mainstay of the team, having previously extended the contract of Colombian striker Jhon Duran until 2030 earlier this October. ( vox888 )
