Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes admitted he was frustrated and disappointed after his home was broken into last month around the same time that tight end Travis Kelce’s home was also broken into, NFL Network reports.
The thefts reportedly occurred before the Chiefs’ 26-13 win over the New Orleans Saints on Oct. 7, with no injuries in either incident, but Mahomes was unable to provide many more details as the investigation continues.
“It’s obviously frustrating and disappointing,” Mahomes said of the burglary that happened to him and his teammates. “It’s something you don’t want to happen to anybody, and certainly yourself.”
The investigation is ongoing, said Ronnie Lozano, spokesman for the sheriff’s office, and declined to answer questions about whether anyone has been arrested. A spokesman for the Johnson County District Attorney’s Office also did not comment.
Additional reports indicate that an unnamed home owned by Kelsey was missing, including $20,000 in cash. There was damage to the back door of the 16,000-square-foot home, which also has a wine cellar, a swimming pool in the backyard and a six-car garage. ( player1688 )
