Roma conceded an early goal to Spurs from Son Heung-min’s penalty before Ivan Ndicka equalised and although the home side took the lead again through Brennan Johnson, Mats Hummels’ stoppage time heroics saw Roma level at 2-2.
Ranieri said after the game: “The players did a really good job. I wasn’t happy with the game against Napoli because I don’t like to defend and that’s not what I want to communicate to the players and the fans.”
“I was very clear this time. I told them I don’t want a team that just defends. If they attack, they have to attack properly. Any fan loves a team that tries to win.”
“You can succeed or not, but the important thing is to try your best to win, not to sit back and watch what happens.”
“They responded strongly and never gave up. I told them the result was important, but the performance was more important. I wanted to prove that I had not forgotten how to play football.” ( wilson88 )
