Dan Quinn, head coach of the Washington Commanders, has made no secret that they will select a quarterback in the draft at the end of April, but has not specified which position. Only, according to a report from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. ( Kindee1688 )

“I would say it’s fair to imagine where we’re going to pick a quarterback,” Quinn said. I think that’s a better question for (General Manager) Adam (Peters)’

‘Over the next several weeks it will be resolved. There will be a lot of talking. And that’s why we had such a wonderful journey out to meet some of them. We’ll be doing more of that in the coming weeks. But I enjoyed that process with Adam and will get through it. He is an extremely skilled person in this position. What it’s going to look like, where it’s going to go and being able to go through that process is really cool.’

Quinn, meanwhile, is working with Peeters for the late April draft. They will have to wait and see what the Chicago Bears decide on with the No. 1 pick after trading Justin Fields to the Pittsburgh Steelers, meaning the Bears will select Caleb. Williams from USC clearly joins the team. 

The Commanders could go with LSU’s Jayden Daniels or North Carolina’s Drake May or someone else, both Quinn and Pete. The Lakers still need to re-evaluate and make a decision on the No. 2 pick in the 2024 draft. 

‘I still have a lot of work to do in that area,’ Quinn said. ‘Adam has come a long way ahead of us. But we work hard with our own team. And then it’s a free agent process. And now as we’re finalizing and in the draft stage of things. We’re still getting more visits, people coming in. It’s just more time. So I think we’re close. But if we say that we have reached that point Not yet’ 

Peeters, the Commanders’ first-year general manager, heads into his first NFL draft at the end of April. After the chaos in March After signing quarterback Marcus Mariota, running back Austin Ecker, wing Zach Ertz, linebacker Bobby Wagner and safety Jeremy Chinn from the free agent market 

Sam Howell was traded to the Seattle Seahawks, so Mariota fills the quarterback room alongside Jake Fromm and Commander. Spurs will select a quarterback with the No. 2 pick in the draft, but Peeters is open to answering calls with teams wanting to trade up to the draft.

‘Yes, I would say it’s loud. And because like you said The caliber of this year’s group,’ Quinn said, ‘so I expect he’ll answer those calls as it goes on. And usually it’s not necessarily later than 6th or 7th, but the people who are usually in the top 4 or 5, there’s someone who’s targeting someone.’

‘And I think most of the time it’s like, ‘Okay, I’ve got to get it.’ A lot of times it’s not like that, like, ‘Thanks for calling,’ but it’s part of the process. And you have to do your due diligence to listen and find out to make sure. There are some things you can’t deny.’
