The summer market for major European leagues currently closes on August 30, with all leagues having already started their new seasons, especially the Premier League, which has already started two weeks ago, leading to criticism.
Aaron Ramsdale, Eddie Nketiah, Manuel Ugarte, Raheem Sterling and Jadon Sancho all signed for new clubs hours before the transfer deadline, with a total of £1.75billion spent and 305 players leaving their current clubs.
According to The Mirror, the Premier League has joined forces with other major European leagues including Spain’s La Liga, Italy’s Serie A, Germany’s Bundesliga and France’s Ligue 1 through the European Club Association (ECA) to reach an agreement to close the summer transfer window by August 15, ahead of the start of the new season.
The report added that a final decision on the plan would be made before the end of 2024, while the winter transfer window for the top five leagues will operate as usual, opening on January 1 and closing on February 3. ( wilson88 )
