Vinatieri, 46, has reiterated his intention since last season to play in his 23rd professional season, having started with the New England Patriots in 1996 and moved to the Colts from 2006 until now.
Although Vinatieri missed a 23-yard field goal and an extra-point attempt in the divisional playoff loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, the veteran kicker performed well during the regular season, completing 85.2 percent of his field goals, including four of those 50 yards, and hitting 44 of 47 extra-point attempts.
