popslot Jones says Cowboys could sign additional wide receiver

popslot The Dallas Cowboys are considering signing another free agent wide receiver after not selecting a wide receiver in this year’s draft.

Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones has revealed the possibility they will sign more free-agent wide receivers after the 2025 draft went unseated, according to NFL Network.  popslot

‘It’s certainly a big idea, but the train hasn’t left the station yet if it’s going to be an improvement from what we had in college,’ Jones said. ‘I’m looking at the same sheet, maybe you have in front of me, that I have in front of me, and it shows our trade of No. 114 to Carolina for Jonathan Mingo. We knew that.’

“My point is, Cowboys vice president of tight ends Stephen (Jones) said it best, it’s a year-round deal, but we don’t necessarily need wide receivers. Really, when we go into the draft, the possibility of creating competition for us is to go out and do something significant for us in free agency.”

‘Start building the depth that we have on the roster right now with two and maybe three players that could compete there. If we bring in somebody that’s clear to everybody that he’s your second guy, so I’m just telling you the benefits of that idea, but certainly the idea that we can handle this if the opportunity arises, if we want to, we can add from free agents.’

The Cowboys had a chance to select Texas wide receiver Matthew Golden in the first round, but they selected guard Tyler Booker at No. 12 before Golden was taken by the Green Bay Packers at No. 23.

The Cowboys have not selected a wide receiver since, but Jones believes they can still sign free agents, including Keenan Allen and Amari Cooper.  ( popslot )
