The 27-year-old French forward required 25 stitches after being kicked in the head by Millwall goalkeeper Liam Roberts, who was eventually sent off.
Mateta will miss Saturday’s Premier League home game at Ipswich but Glasner is hopeful he will be available after the international break from March 17-25, during which Palace will enter a warm-weather training camp in Marbella.
“Mateta is OK,” Glasner said Friday.
“He is at home and recovering well,”
“He did not have any fractures or head concussions, and the healing of the large wound went as well as we expected,”
“He will go to Marbella with us next week and he will train individually. If everything goes as we want, he will be available for the game against Fulham (FA Cup quarter-final on March 29).”
“We lost JP in this game, we can’t play him tomorrow (Saturday) but it’s not too bad,” ( pony88 )
