McTominay has been unable to train fully this week due to fitness issues, leaving it unclear whether the Scotland midfielder will be available for Sunday’s Serie A clash with Fiorentina.  

“He is overworked, he trained less than the others, two days, we have 24 hours, we will evaluate and find the best solution with him,” Conte said of McTominay, who has played 26 times in all competitions, 23 of them in Serie A.

Meanwhile, Conte was pleased with the performance of fellow Scotland midfielder Billy Gilmour, who impressed in the 1-1 draw at Inter Milan last time out.

“Gilmour has a good chance against Inter. I’ve been clear with all the players, in the last 11 games, the players who deserve to play have played. There is no fixed position. Gilmour did very well against Inter. He will play against Fiorentina.” ( pony88 )
