Duren has been averaging 13.6 points and 11.7 rebounds this season, leading Bickerstaff to believe the 2025 season is a good time to sign a new rookie contract.

“Consistency is a strength – we see the talent that’s always there,” Duren said after his career-high six blocks over the weekend against the Brooklyn Nets. 

“But now he has found a way to keep his performances going, which is the hardest thing in this league.” 

“ The way to select a good player in this league is whether you have 10 good games a year , whether you have 30 good games a season , whether you have 82 good games. ”

“ That guy is the one who brings everything together , the engine on both sides of the pitch . ”  

Duren is averaging 11.2 points , 10.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists this season in 58 games , 25.7 minutes.
