Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott said he was happy with his team’s 20-15 win over the New York Giants, but wasn’t overly excited about the victory, NFL Network reports.  player1688

The Cowboys were criticized earlier this year after losing two straight home games before Prescott and his team bounced back with a win over their division rival the Giants on Thursday to improve to 2-2 through the first four games of the 2024 season. 

“It’s really big,” Prescott said. “After losing two games, especially at home, on the road, first game in the division, it’s always tough to win in the division and you have to go out and play on the weekends. It makes you feel better.”

It was the Cowboys’ 14th win in their last 15 games against the Giants and Prescott’s 13th straight over their division rivals. It’s the second-longest streak of victories by a quarterback against the same team since 1950. 

Prescott completed 22 of 27 passes for 221 yards and threw two touchdowns to CeeDee Lamb and Rico Dowdle. The 125.5 quarterback rating from the victory gave the 30-year-old and his team a better feeling.

“At the end of the day, like I said, losing two games in the last two weeks, it’s a process,” Prescott said. “So we’re not going to get complacent. We’re not going to get too excited about what we’ve done. It’s about building and figuring out what we can do better every step of the way. But it’s a lot easier to do that after a win.”

“I mean, it’s always good to win, especially away from home,” Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy said. “It’s always good to win away from home because it adds a new dimension to the game. So I feel good about what we’ve accomplished, but I think it’s the fourth week in a row that we’ve realized we’ve got a lot more work to do.” 

The Cowboys face a tough defensive rival, the Pittsburgh Steelers, in Week 5, and Prescott admitted they have to prepare for the game without relying on Brandon Aubrey’s long field goal ability like they did last time out.

‘The game didn’t end the way we wanted it to, didn’t end up to our standards, let our defense settle, and credit to our guys for not giving up a touchdown, but we’re an offense that can finish better and score more touchdowns than we did, so we have to look in the mirror and do what we can to get it done.’ ( player1688 )
