New York Giants head coach Brian DeBoll has the bad news that Andrew Thomas will be out for the remainder of the 2024 season after the 25-year-old left tackle underwent surgery to repair a fractured foot, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported. player1688

Thomas suffered a metatarsal fracture in Sunday’s loss to the Cincinnati Bengals and consulted with Dr. Robert Anderson in North Carolina, where he ultimately underwent surgery. 

‘You can’t replace Andrew Thomas. I feel bad for him,’ DeBoll said. ‘He’s a leader, he’s a captain, he’s great in the locker room, he’s a great football player.’ 

For the Giants, who started the season 2-4 and ranked 29th in the NFL in scoring, it was disappointing to lose key left tackle Thomas, who was a standout in 2022 but missed seven games in 2023 with a hamstring injury.

Thomas signed a five-year, $117.5 million contract in the 2023 offseason, a clear indication that he will play a key role in the Giants’ future. The loss of the 25-year-old left tackle will inevitably have an impact on the Blue Devils.  ( player1688 )
