After 12 minutes of play, the Wolves greeted first. From a corner kick on the right, Matheus Cunha opened a formula ball to the skull area. Jean-Ricknaire Bellegarde ran in to hit it, but it was hit by his own teammate and went behind.
Another 4 minutes, Cunha opened from the left to the center. Jorgen Stan Larsen couldn’t find the ball. The ball hit his right foot and went behind.
The home team took the lead first. In the 30th minute, Tyler Adams placed a long ball up front on the right. Antoine Semenyo reached the ball before Toti before shooting and hitting Sam Johnstone’s save. The ball didn’t get out of danger. Evanilson followed up with his left foot and didn’t miss. Bournemouth led 1-0. That’s
not all. In the 35th minute, from a corner kick on the right, the ball curved to the second post. Kerkez headed the ball but almost hit Halsen’s arm. Teammates before the goal, before VAR checked that it was offside first.
In injury time, the home team intercepted the ball. Kerkez broke through on the left before cutting into the middle. The ball hit Alex Scott’s hand and rolled into the net, but the goal was disallowed because it was a handball. The first half ended with Bournemouth leading 1-0.
Back to play the second half, in the 61st minute, Cunha stole the ball 30 yards away to Santiago Bueno who tapped it back to the Brazilian player. He had the opportunity to shoot with his right foot from 30 yards away. The ball flew like a falling leaf into the beautiful triangle. Wolves equalized 1-1.
The next minute, Marcus Travernier cut from the left to the front of the goal. Evanilson charged in close range, but Toti made an incredible interception. In the 73rd minute, Travernier took a free kick into the penalty area on the left side. Halsen headed the ball over the bar.
The home team continued to attack. In the 76th minute, Halsen headed the ball to Travernier who headed it in close range. The ball went straight to Johnstone. Incredibly good save. In injury time, Luis Sinisterra tapped the ball back to Semenyo who ran and spun with his right foot. The ball curved and missed the far post. The 90 minutes ended in a 1-1 draw, requiring extra time.
In the 1.5 minute of extra time, Travernier passed to Tyler Adams who fired a full 30-yard shot. The ball rocketed and missed the far post. In the 112th minute, Lewis Cook crossed from the right into the middle. Sinisterra headed the ball with full force. Johnstone made an incredible save.
The Wolves were irritated. In the 120th minute, Cunha fought over the ball with Kerkes before losing control and playing outside the game against the home team. The referee showed him a red card and sent him off. The Wolves were down to 10 men but could not do anything more. The game ended in a 1-1 draw, requiring a penalty shootout.
Bournemouth was more accurate and won 5-4, advancing to the last 8 of the FA Cup.
