pgzen Garrett Boles is happy to play with the Denver Broncos for the rest of his career after signing a four-year extension.
Garrett Boles, 32, revealed after signing a four-year contract extension with the Denver Broncos that it was a dream come true that he wanted to play for his hometown club for the rest of his career, NFL Network reported. pgzen
The former first-round pick in the 2017 draft class signed a four-year, $68 million extension in 2020 and was entering the final year of his current deal when the Mustangs agreed to a four-year, $82 million extension with $40 million guaranteed. That means Boles will play with one franchise until he’s 36 or for the rest of his career, if he chooses to.
“This is a dream come true,” Boles said. “I grew up in this city. I became a man in this city as a football player, as a husband and to be here with my family for the long haul, it means a lot to me. I’m so thankful for (the Walton-Penner family ownership group) and the great ownership group we have.”
Boles faced criticism for penalties and missed blocks early in his career, but he has turned things around and become one of the best left tackles in the NFL after correcting his early mistakes.
‘It wasn’t easy,’ Boles said. ‘I didn’t start the way I wanted to here, but I finished the way I wanted to, and just to be a Broncos for the rest of my career, I’m so grateful.’
Boles’ next goal is to make his first playoff appearance as a Broncos player, saying, “It means a lot. All I want to do is win here, win at the highest level and play in the most important games at the most important times with the biggest stars and the biggest players.”
‘The culture that we’ve had here for many years, it’s great to be here. It’s not over yet, it’s not done (and) we still have a lot of work to do, but we’re putting people in the right positions to be successful.’ ( pgzen )
