Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson admitted his team was disappointed after a 10-47 loss to the Buffalo Bills on Monday night and stressed the Jaguars need to address their issues urgently, NFL Network reports. ( superwin636 )
The Jaguars allowed the Bills to score on their first six drives, including five touchdowns, as they trailed 3-34 at the half and lost 10-47.
“It’s really shocking, it’s really disappointing. You hate to say it, but the truth is, this is where we are now,” Pederson said. “We’re not a good football team, and we have to fix that. We have to figure it out, and we have to do it quickly.”
While Bills quarterback Josh Allen was relentless in the Jaguars’ defense, Jaguars wide receiver Trevor Lawrence struggled to respond, completing 21 of 38 passes for 178 yards, one touchdown and one interception.
“It was just a moment where we just didn’t have any momentum,” Lawrence said. “It seemed like everyone was playing badly at the wrong times, including me. It seemed really hard to move forward, not find that rhythm right now, and we all played our part in that.”
Lawrence signed a five-year, $275 million contract last offseason, with $142 million guaranteed, and is on track to be on par with Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow for an average annual salary of $55 million, amid questions about whether he deserves the lucrative contract.
“At the end of the day, when we go out there, we have to perform. I think that’s what we’re missing right now. We’re in a position to do it, but we’re not,” Lawrence said.
