Bayern Munich and Portugal midfielder Joao Palhinha has admitted Wednesday’s Champions League opponents Benfica have improved significantly since changing coach Bruno Lache, but the 29-year-old is determined to beat the Lisbon Eagles, Sky Germany reported on Sunday. 

Palhinha joined Bayern Munich from Fulham in the summer and was initially a back-up, but the 29-year-old has become a regular under Vincent Kompany and has helped the Bavarians keep three clean sheets in their last three games against Bochum, Mainz and Union Berlin before facing Benfica in the Champions League on Wednesday. 

‘Keeping three clean sheets in a row is not easy. We are proud of it but we have to move on,’ Palhinha said. ‘We have a very important game on Wednesday and that’s what we are focusing on now.’

‘Benfica has improved a lot since they changed the coach. For me, this is obviously a special game. We will fight, we want to play our game and win.’  ( Onelove168  )
