Sky Sports reports that Crystal Palace are close to completing the signing of 26-year-old Senegalese winger Sarr, with the fee agreed with Olympique Marseille expected to be around £12.5 million.

Personal terms are unlikely to be a problem as Sarr is keen to leave Marseille and return to the Premier League, with the player expected to sign a five-year contract at Selhurst Park as a replacement for Michael Olise, who moved to Bayern Munich for a staggering £50m.

Sarr had previously enjoyed impressive spells in Ligue 1 with Metz and Rennes before joining Watford in 2019, and experienced relegation from the Premier League, promotion from the Championship and relegation again during four seasons at Vicarage Road before deciding to join Olympique Marseille.

His one season with Olympique Marseille was not as good as expected, with only 5 goals in 35 games in all competitions, of which 15 were starts in Ligue 1, scoring 3 goals. ( vox888  )
