The French forward was tackled in the head by the Millwall goalkeeper early in the FA Cup tie and was rushed to hospital by Michael Oliver, who reviewed the VAR review before sending Roberts off. kindee1688

“At this point, all we know is he has serious injuries behind his ear and head. He’s in hospital. We hope he’s OK,” Parish said.

“There are so many emotional games in football, but we have to talk about this tackle. In my football career, I have never seen a tackle like this. You have to look at the age of the goalkeeper. He is 30 years old.

“It was the most reckless tackle I have ever seen on a football pitch. He needs to take a good look in the mirror because he has hurt a fellow professional and possibly even killed him by doing that.

“It’s hard for me to talk about the rest of the game because I’m worried about him. It was a really bad tackle.”

“They are professionals, everyone is a professional and they have to treat each other professionally. We have a duty to look after each other, but that goalkeeper didn’t have that.”

“Credit to the players who kept playing. It’s hard for me to think about Jean-Philippe in hospital and in my life. It was a really bad collision. Why did the referee have to check the screen? I trust him.”
