Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said Luke Musgrave will miss at least a month after the 24-year-old wide receiver suffered an ankle injury in Week 4’s loss to the Minnesota Vikings and is expected to be placed on injured reserve at some point, per ESPN.
Musgrave suffered an ankle injury in the loss to the Vikings and did not play in Sunday’s 24-19 win over the LA Rams, with LaFleur using the 24-year-old wide receiver only in emergencies.
“It speaks volumes about his toughness and his competitiveness,” LaFleur said of Musgrave. “The way he played in the last game was impressive. I don’t think we understood how serious it was, so he’s going to be out for a minute.”
If Musgrave’s injury is severe enough to require surgery, LaFleur expects the 24-year-old to return this season, and if the Bears place him on injured reserve, he could return as early as Nov. 17 against the Chicago Bears.
“I know he’s probably a little sore,” teammate Tucker Kraft said. “He’s recovering now, that’s the main thing.”
For Kraft, the second-year player has emerged as the Packers’ No. 1 wide receiver, overtaking Musgrave this season after catching 34 passes for 352 yards and three touchdowns as a rookie, but the Packers have also used the wide receiver in a variety of situations, although Musgrave has only caught five passes for 22 yards this season.
