Brown stepped into the Bears’ offense after the firing of Shane Waldron and has helped revamp the team’s offense, as evidenced by Williams’ improvement from averaging 156 yards per game in Weeks 8-10 with no touchdowns to averaging 285.5 yards per game, including two touchdowns in Week 12.
“I think the time to work on it helps a lot,” Williams explained. “From all the games, practices, going back to the spring and summer, I think the time to work on it is very important. There’s nothing better than having the time to work on it. I think it gives a sense of clarity and confidence.”
‘The confidence that you talk about is still in the valleys and the peaks that you maintain and continue to go through. When you go through those valleys and you get to the top of the mountain, you want to find a way to stay there and continue to go through those valleys and the peaks. All of that comes from time on the job and being able to make decisions and communicate openly with all the players and the coaches. And then we grow.’
“Our connection, my playing ability and his coaching, I think it’s a pretty good connection so far,” Williams said of Brown.
‘He’s done a great job of understanding me, even though we haven’t spoken much in the past. There are a lot of opportunities to do that. I think he’s done a great job of understanding me and the players on this team. I think it’s going to continue to grow. Coming into this week and having this challenge is another testament to that.’ ( nuno168 )
