Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell said the team is in no rush to replace Aidan Hutchinson after losing the 24-year-old defensive end for the rest of the season to fractures in his left tibia and fibula during Sunday’s win over the Dallas Cowboys, NFL Network reports. nuno168
‘Look, we’re open to anything,’ Campbell said. ‘(General manager) Brad (Holmes) has worked hard on this. We’re not going to rush this. Brad is doing his homework. The guys are doing their homework. They’re looking at everything. But we’re not just moving to get it done. It’s got to be the right fit. It’s got to be the right people and the pieces are going to fall into place.’
Campbell admitted finding a player with the impact Hutchinson has not been easy, either, saying: ‘Listen, Brad knows what it takes to get a guy. I don’t know all that, but I know enough to know that if you’re a 6-foot-6, 285-pound guy with 4’4″ and 35″ arms, they’re not just falling out of trees.
‘You have to…you know, would you trade Hutch for that guy? Of course, part of it is the value of the trade. It’s the contract. It has an impact on our future and who we’re trying to sign in the future.’
Earlier, Las Vegas Raiders owner Mark Davis dismissed rumors of a Max Crosby trade, while the Cleveland Browns are in selling mode, but it’s unlikely to be Miles Garrett, it could be Cedarius Smith, and the Cincinnati Bengals are unlikely to let go of Trey Hendrickson.
Meanwhile, Hasan Reddick, who is in a contract dispute with the New York Jets, is also a possibility, but Gang Green would lose more money if he traded the 29-year-old to his former NFC team, the Philadelphia Eagles. ( nuno168 )
