However, the Barcelona goalkeeper was unlucky to suffer a serious injury to his right patellar tendon, requiring surgery and keeping him out for the rest of the season.

That has led to talk of a possible comeback for Neuer, with another option, Eintracht Frankfurt goalkeeper Kevin Trapp, also struggling with an injury. 

However, Munich outlet ‘Tz’ reported on Monday that the 38-year-old Bavarians goalkeeper is not thinking about a return to the national team at the moment and is focused solely on his club.

That means Alexander Nübel and Oliver Baumann could be in goal for Germany in October, while Bernd Leno is still uncertain about his return to the national team after being dropped from the squad in recent times.
