“That was definitely the end goal in my mind,” McVay said. “I think at the end of the day, it’s about the partnership and the importance of having him as a guide. I’m so thankful, so excited, and (I’ve) been sleeping better the last couple of days.” 

McVay admitted the restructured contract was a one-year solution and expects a similar situation to occur again in 2026. 

‘We take it one year at a time and I think he deserves the right to say he can play another two or three years if he wants to, but we’ve always had good conversations and I think it’s about taking it year by year. He’s got two more years on his contract with us, but as long as he wants to play, I know we feel good about that.’

The Rams just extended left tackle Alaric Jackson last week, and McVay said the deal was a “huge deal” for the Rams, before adding that both offensive tackle Rob Havenstein and tight end Tyler Higbee will return for the final year of their contracts in 2025. ( mungmee168 )
