Las Vegas Raiders owner Mark Davis says the arrival of quarterback legend Tom Brady as a minority shareholder will help fill the void left by Jon Gruden’s departure as head coach in 2021, ESPN reports. ( mungmee168 )
“Bringing Tom Brady in is like bringing someone into football that I’ve been missing here in the organization,” Davis said. “I went back to 2018 with Jon Gruden. He was the guy I brought in and really expected him to be the guy in football that could bring stability to the organization.”
‘He had a 10-year contract and all that, and his head was cut off, and we were in a terrible situation as an organization.’
Davis also spoke about the introduction of Pete Carroll as the new head coach and new general manager John Spitek, saying, “We wanted to build something here, and that was the process and the idea all along. Like I said, it either paid off or exploded when Jon Gruden left.”
‘So since then we’ve tried to get it right and we’ll see. But I’ve been patient to get it right and I think we’ve got the people now. Again, I’ve always felt that the results speak to me and that’s what we’ll see.’
