If it is considered feasible, the contract will be upgraded to a 1-year contract with no guarantee of salary, with a deadline of January 2025, to be retained or abandoned.  

It marks his second return to New York after playing 43 games for the ‘Reds and Blues’ before being traded to the LA Clippers during the 2019-20 season. 

Last season he played 49 games for the Cleveland Cavaliers and Philadelphia 76ers, averaging 6.4 points and 2.7 rebounds.

He also started one of the Cavs’ nine playoff games in the Eastern Conference first round against the Orlando Magic. 

The 35-year-old has played for the Rockets, Suns, Pistons and Celtics over a 13-year career, averaging 12 points, 4.4 rebounds and shooting 37.7 percent from long range in 832 NBA games.  

Marcus is the twin brother of Markieff, a forward who signed with the Dallas Mavericks.
